Welcome & Introduction

Hello everyone, if you are here chances are you are either thinking of getting pregnant, trying to get pregnant or maybe you are already pregnant. Deciding to TTC (try to conceive) is very exciting. Whether you are single, married, or have a partner, you are at a point in your life that you want a child. I am a mother of 4 children and let me tell you, motherhood is wonderful, it's very challenging but it's still a wonderful and very rewarding experience.

However, the journey to getting pregnant, actually being pregnant, giving birth, breastfeeding, etc., doesn't always happen as planned. Which is why I decided to do this blog, I get so many questions about TTC that I wanted a spot to direct questions to. Let me start with a little back story.

I am currently a single mom of 4 wonderful children and at the moment my youngest is 7 months old. I am 36 years old and have never been married (by choice), but we don't want to turn this into a, "What happened, why are you single?" blog. After all, I didn't have to disclose that I'm single but I think it's important to be honest with my readers as well as cater to the other single moms who are TTC, yes I said it, single women are TTC. Anyway moving on...

My fertility journey is pretty simple, I had my first child at 24, my first 3 children are from a relationship, I had no fertility issues, in fact I was dubbed Fertile Myrtle. Fast forward to 2010, I met an fell in love with my now ex-boyfriend and we decided to try for a baby. Well I lost that child and it was the most painful thing I have ever been through.

I started spotting and bleeding at almost 12 weeks, went to the emergency room and found out my baby passed away at 8 weeks. I was devastated, literally. My relationship fell apart and I was left with empty arms. I had my 3 older children of course and I loved them very much but I still longed for the baby I lost. I couldn't help it. So I decided to try to conceive on my own, with a donor but this blog isn't entirely about sperm donors.

My cycle was completely destroyed by the miscarriage, I went from having the perfect 28 or 29 day cycle to horrible long cycles and this is where my TTC journey began..
